1969-
Movie director. Born 1969 in Ulm, Germany to a German father and Swiss mother. The family later moved to Davos, Switzerland, where Forster grew up. He came to New York in 1990 to study filmmaking at NYU.
Afterwards he moved to Los Angeles and began working steadily in film. As a director he has built a reputation for creating serious in-depth dramas most notably with Monster's Ball(2001) which garnered a best actress Oscar for Halle Berry; Finding Neverland(2004) and more recently, the Oscar contender The Kiterunner.
Forster was also picked to direct Quantum of Solace the 22nd Bond Movie, due in 2008.
