Rev. Hans Herrs was an early immigrant to Lancaster County PA. Records indicate he was born in 1639 in Baden, Zurich Canton. His family settled south of present-day Lancaster in 1719 or 1720. The stone house built soon afterwards by his son Christian (but known as the Hans Herr House) still welcomes visitors.

I am a grandson of the late Carl Menno Lehman 1915-1998 Bluffton, Ohio (respected retired accountant at what is now Bluftton University 1954-1979). If I recall the story correctly most of grandpa Carl's grandparents and great grand parents lived in the Emmental area of Switzerland in the Canton of Bern.
